Cardi B beats the $24M lawsuit — jury clears her in LA courtroom showdown.

Cardi B scored a major courtroom win in Los Angeles this week, walking away from a high-profile civil trial with a unanimous jury verdict in her favor.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A jury in California has found Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B not liable in a civil lawsuit accusing her of assaulting a security guard during a 2018 confrontation in Los Angeles.

The lawsuit, filed by former guard Emani Ellis, sought $24 million in damages, alleging Cardi B spat on her and scratched her nose with a fingernail during a heated exchange. Ellis claimed she suffered both physical and emotional harm.

Jurors rejected the accusations after several days of testimony, siding with Cardi B’s defense that the incident never amounted to assault. Reports from BBCCNN, and NBC News noted that Ellis’s account was challenged for inconsistencies, with Cardi B’s attorneys arguing the claims were exaggerated and unfounded.

The verdict, delivered unanimously, ends a yearslong legal battle for the 31-year-old performer, whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar. As Reuters reported, the outcome marks another court victory for the star, who has faced multiple lawsuits while continuing her chart-topping music career.

Cardi B’s legal team welcomed the ruling, calling it a “clear affirmation of the truth.” The rapper has not publicly commented on the case since the decision was announced.

With the jury’s verdict, Cardi B closes the door on this chapter of litigation — leaving the rapper free to shift her focus back to music, performances, and the spotlight of her choosing.
