Imagine a festival where the redhead population density spikes from a wholesome 2% to—some say alarmingly ginger! Welcome to Redhead Days (Roodharigendag), the world’s zaniest, proudest, most flame-hued gathering. Founded in 2005 by a non-redhead painter whose search for “just 15 models” culminated in 150 red-haired wonderfuls, the event unexpectedly became an annual global phenomenon.

Tilburg Takes the Torch ... Literally
Since 2019, the festival has called Tilburg home, moving from its early days in Asten and then Breda. Each August, the last full weekend to be precise, thousands of natural redheads (and their companions) descend on city squares and Spoorpark for a long weekend of hair-celebration.

Hot off the press: Festival dates for 2025 are August 29–31, with the iconic group photo happening on Sunday, August 31 at 13:00. The 2024 theme was green; for 2025, it's switched to blue—so yes, get your sapphire outfits ready!
